Live facilitation

Step-by-step guide to facilitating a face-to-face or remote Kunjani live game using the shared screen.

How to Facilitate a Live Kunjani Game (Basic Method)

Use this method to run a live Kunjani game from one shared screen. It works for face-to-face sessions using a projector and remote sessions using screen sharing in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or a similar platform.

1. Open the shared screen

  • Go to Games and find the game you want to facilitate.
  • Open the Play game menu and select Shared Screen.
  • Share this screen with the room using a projector, or through your online meeting.
  • Ask participants to scan the QR code shown on the shared screen.

2. Join through WhatsApp

  • Scanning the QR code opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled join message.
  • Each participant must send the message to join the game.

3. Complete registration

  • First-time participants answer the registration questions in WhatsApp.
  • Enter the requested details, such as name and surname.
  • Returning participants may skip some registration questions.

4. Select a team and review the rules

  • Choose a team from the WhatsApp list.
  • The participant's name appears under that team on the shared screen.
  • First-time players can review the Kunjani rules before the game starts.

5. Start the game and roll

  • Select Ready to roll on the shared screen.
  • Use automatic nomination to choose a participant, or nominate someone manually.
  • The selected participant receives the roll prompt in WhatsApp.
  • After they roll, the activity appears on the shared screen and participants' phones.

6. Answer the activity

Participants respond in the format requested by the activity. This can include:

  • A voice note
  • A text message
  • A photo
  • A video

Voice notes are useful when expression and explanation matter. The facilitator can pause or restart the activity timer when the group needs more time.

7. Review the AI assessment

  • Kunjani assesses submissions and awards points.
  • Participants receive personalised feedback in WhatsApp.
  • The shared screen updates the individual and team scores.

8. Close submissions and reveal the suggested answer

  • Select Done on the shared screen when the activity is complete.
  • This closes submissions and sends the suggested answer to participants.
  • Use the suggested answer to discuss the activity with the group.

9. Improve an answer

When the activity allows more than one attempt, participants can use the AI feedback to submit an improved answer. Kunjani assesses the new attempt and sends updated feedback.

10. Continue the game

  • Select Ready to roll again.
  • Repeat the roll, activity, assessment, and discussion cycle.
  • Continue until the session is complete.

How to Facilitate a Live Kunjani Game (Advanced Method)

Use the private Facilitator screen when you need more control during a live game. It lets you participate, inspect submissions, review or add assessments, and monitor the live dashboard.

1. Open the Facilitator screen

  • Keep the Shared screen open on the display or browser tab that participants can see.
  • Return to the game in Kunjani.
  • Open the Play game menu and select Facilitator screen.
  • Place it on a separate monitor or manage your tabs so participants cannot see it.

2. Choose whether to participate

The Facilitator screen includes a phone-style chat interface that reflects the experience participants receive.

  • Select Participate & Facilitate to join a team and answer activities with the group.
  • Select Facilitate only when you only want to control the session.

When you participate, activities appear in the chat interface and you can submit answers without using a separate phone.

3. Open a participant's attempts

  • Open Assessments.
  • Find the participant you want to review.
  • Expand the participant to see their submitted attempts, progress, performance, and team.
  • Select an attempt to inspect it.

4. Review the submitted answer

An expanded attempt shows:

  • The activity question
  • The suggested answer
  • The participant's provided answer or transcript
  • A link to the original audio or video submission when available

You can play a useful audio or video submission for the group when you want to discuss it. Share only the selected media, then return to the participant-facing Shared screen.

5. Review or add an assessment

  • Expand Assessments under the submitted answer.
  • Read the AI assessment, notes, and rating.
  • Edit the AI assessment when human judgement requires a correction.
  • Alternatively, keep the AI assessment and add a separate facilitator assessment.
  • Add your notes, select a rating, and save.

The saved assessment and score are sent to the participant. The AI feedback can also help you identify points to unpack during the group discussion.

6. Monitor the live Dashboard

Open Dashboard for a more detailed and interactive view of the session. It includes:

  • Total participants, responding participants, and total responses
  • Average score and participation rate
  • Top team and top performer
  • Team or participant views
  • Bar and line charts for tracking performance over time

7. Keep the advanced view private

Use the Shared screen for the participant-facing experience and the Facilitator screen for private control. Before switching tabs or sharing a window, confirm which screen your participants can see.
