Use Customise messages to collect participant information, adapt the WhatsApp experience, and gather feedback without sending people to a separate form.
Open Customise messages
- Select Games in the left navigation.
- Select the game you want to update.
- Open Edit.
- Expand the settings navigation and select Customise messages.
Choose whether to collect surnames
Kunjani always collects a participant's first name when it is needed. Ask attendees for their surname is enabled by default.
Leave it enabled when your reports need to distinguish people with the same first name. Turn it off when a first name is sufficient.
Add custom registration questions
Use registration questions to collect information such as a job title, employee number, department, or store name inside the WhatsApp joining flow.
- Select Add a custom question.
- Enter the exact question participants should receive in WhatsApp question.
- Optionally select Customise report label to use a shorter column name in the exported report.
- Add Expected values json only when answers must be normalised to a fixed list.
Normalise answers with expected values
Expected values help keep reports consistent when participants may spell or capitalise the same answer differently. For example, provide the approved store names and Kunjani can match a participant's answer to the closest value.
Enter a valid JSON array of strings:
["Port Louis", "Curepipe", "Quatre Bornes"]Leave the field as [] when any free-text answer is acceptable.
Send an inactivity reminder
For a self-paced game, enable Send reminders to inactive players to send one personalised WhatsApp reminder 23 hours after a participant's last activity. The reminder is designed to bring the participant back before the 24-hour free-session window closes.
This option applies only to self-paced games.
Write the game messages
All three fields are optional. Select the information icon beside a field to preview the standard message and see available customisation options.
- Custom welcome message appears as soon as the participant joins on WhatsApp.
- Custom start message appears after registration, when the participant is ready to begin.
- Custom completion message appears after a participant finishes every activity in a self-paced game.
Collect feedback in WhatsApp
Feedback questions keep the post-session survey inside the same WhatsApp conversation. Participants can respond with text or a voice message. Kunjani transcribes voice responses and includes the answers in the game report.
- Select Add a feedback question.
- Enter the question, such as
Rate this session on a scale from 1 to 10. - Optionally select Customise report label to create a shorter report column, such as
Session rating. - Add more questions when needed.
Choose when feedback is sent
- Automatic sends the questions when the game ends.
- Scheduled sends them at the date and time you select. For reliable WhatsApp delivery, schedule them within 24 hours of the session ending.
- Manual waits until you return to the game and select Send feedback now.
Save the settings
Review the registration questions, messages, reminders, and feedback trigger, then select Update Game.
